The international conference “Earth’s Cryosphere: Past, Present and Future”
The international conference “Earth’s Cryosphere: Past, Present and Future” was held on 4-8 June, 2017 in Pushchino (Russia) and hosted by Institute of Physicoсhemical and Biological Problems in Soil Science together with the Permafrost Young Researchers Network (PYRN). The conference was attended by leading R&D institutes and survey organizations from Russia, the United States, Germany, France, and the Netherlands, which are engaged in permafrost studies.
Simmakers leading specialists of R&D Department Yuri Romanovsky and Hleb Gribovsky gave presentations on the topics “Water filtration role in thermal design of structures on permafrost” and “Computer simulation of thermal regime of soil foundation of power-generation building at Vorkutinskaya Compressor Station #4” during the infrastructure management session. Also, Simmakers representatives have visited the evening meeting of Russian permafrost young researchers, where in an informal atmosphere were discussed topical trends in the permafrost studies of and current higher education issues.
